[:en]Chilean Astronomy Web is the name of the meeting that brings together researchers working in our country and abroad and aims to establish partnerships between Chileans dedicated to astronomy.
Two days of intense work characterized the first version of the Chilean Astronomy Web (CHAW) an event that for the first time brings together astronomy students who are doing their Ph.D. and postdoctorate abroad with the local community of researchers doing science here in Chile.
According to Dante Minniti, Chair of the Scientific Organizing Committee, the main goal of this meeting, which was sponsored by the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics MAS, the Center for Excellence in Astrophysics and Associated Technologies (CATA) and the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (Conicyt), is to strengthen relations between researchers outside and inside the country, in order to build alliances that benefit their research and career development.
“We are extremely happy with the response to the first version of this event. Students attending to these activities benefit from it, since those doing their degrees outside the country can share their experiences regarding scholarships and research centers to which those who are in Chile can apply to, while the local students can help them to find new opportunities when they return to Chile,” Dante Minniti explains, who also is also MAS Deputy Director and Professor at Universidad Andrés Bello, institution that hosted this activity.
Finally, this was an opportunity not only to create collaborative networks among the doctoral, postdoctoral and researcher candidates of this activity but also to know more about the many advances in different astronomy fields thanks to a rich program of talks.

Chilean Astronomy Web es el nombre del encuentro que reúne a investigadores que trabajan en nuestro país y en el extranjero y que tiene como objetivo establecer alianzas de colaboración entre compatriotas dedicados a la astronomía.
Dos días de intenso trabajo caracterizaron la primera versión del Chilean Astronomy Web (CHAW) un evento que por primera vez reúne a estudiantes de astronomía que están realizando su doctorado y postdoctorado fuera del país con la comunidad local de investigadores haciendo ciencia en Chile.
Según Dante Minniti, presidente del Comité Científico Organizador, el objetivo de esta reunión, que contó con el auspicio del Instituto Milenio de Astrofísica MAS, el Centro de Astrofísica y Tecnologías Afines (CATA) y la Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (Conicyt), es afianzar las relaciones entre los investigadores que se encuentran fuera y dentro del país, con el fin de construir alianzas que beneficien sus investigaciones y el desarrollo de sus carreras.
“Estamos muy contentos con la convocatoria y la recepción que tuvo esta primera versión. Los estudiantes que asisten se benefician mucho, pues los que están fuera de Chile pueden compartir sus experiencias respecto a las becas y centros de investigación a los que pueden postular los que están en el país, mientras que estos los pueden guiar para encontrar oportunidades de retorno a Chile”, explica Dante Minniti, quien además es Subdirector del MAS y académico de la Universidad Andrés Bello, institución anfitriona de la actividad.
Una oportunidad no sólo para establecer redes de colaboración entre los candidatos a doctores, postdoctorados e investigadores presentes, sino también de conocer los últimos avances que se han obtenido en distintas áreas de la astronomía, gracias a un nutrido programa de charlas.[:]
