This planet is made up mostly of methane, so then it obtains its unique greenish-blue color. Like the other gas planets of the Solar System (Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune), Uranus has hurricanes and storms on its atmosphere, seen as light or dark spots. These spots can last months or even years, and then they disappear. Uranus was discovered by accident by Herschel in 1781, while he was observing with his telescope.

Uranus also has rings. But in contrast to Saturn’s, they are made up of small rocky grains that don’t correctly reflect  the Sunlight, so they are hard to observe [credits Keck Observatory]

Este planeta está compuesto principalmente por hidrógeno y helio, pero también posee trazas de metano, al que se debe su característico color azul-verdoso. Al igual que los otros planetas gaseosos del Sistema Solar (Júpiter, Saturno y Neptuno) Urano muestra huracanes y tormentas en su atmósfera, visibles como manchas claras u oscuras. Éstas duran unos meses, a veces años y luego desaparecen. Urano fue descubierto por Herschel, accidentalmente, en 1781, mirando a través de un telescopio.

Urano también tiene anillos, pero a diferencia de los de Saturno, estos están compuestos de pequeños granos de roca que no reflejan eficientemente la luz del Sol y por eso son difíciles de observar [crédito Keck Observatory]
