[:en]MAS Researcher, Rodrigo Contreras Ramos’ and artist, Carolina Undurraga’s book, “Bruno and The Big Bang,” will be available in 10 branches of Biblioteca Viva (Viva Library) located at different Mall Plaza shopping centers in Chile. All this thanks to a partnership agreement between La Fuente Foundation, institution to which these libraries belong, and MAS.
La Fuente Foundation is a private non-profit organization that promotes culture and reading in particular, through interventions of non-traditional spaces such as a mall, reaching a diverse public that sometimes does not have the opportunity to participate in this type of activities.
Nowadays, Biblioteca Viva has 9 branches, 5 in Santiago and 4 Antofagasta, Los Angeles, Concepción and Talcahuano. Biblioteca Viva’s next branch in Los Domínicos is expected to open soon.
Thanks to this partnership with MAS, the library will now have in its catalogue the book “Bruno and The Big Bang,” which is sponsored by MAS through the 2017 PME 2017 –A Millennium Science Initiative’s project – to print 1,000 copies that are being delivered to vulnerable schools and institutions like this, in order to reach an audience that does not have the means to buy it.
In addition, this partnership will bring the Art + Science: Bruno and The Big Bang Workshop to many kids. This is set to be held on Friday, June 22th at 18:00 hours at the Biblioteca Viva Plaza Tobalaba, where the authors themselves will talk with the children about the Universe and the relationship between different artists of history and the cosmos as an inspiration.[:es]
El libro Bruno y el Big Bang, del astrónomo del MAS Rodrigo Contreras Ramos y la artista Carolina Undurraga, estará disponible en las 10 sedes de Biblioteca Viva ubicadas en centros comerciales Mall Plaza del país. Ello gracias al acuerdo entre Fundación La Fuente, institución a la que pertenece esta red de bibliotecas, y el Instituto Milenio de Astrofísica.
Fundación La Fuente, es una organización privada sin fines de lucro, que fomenta la cultura, y la lectura en particular, a través de la intervención de espacios no tradicionales como el mall, llegando así a un público diverso y que a veces no tiene la oportunidad de acercarse a este tipo de actividades.
Actualmente Biblioteca Viva cuenta con 9 sedes, 5 en Santiago y cuatro sedes en regiones que abarcan, Antofagasta, Los Ángeles, Concepción y Talcahuano, además se espera la apertura de la próxima sede de Biblioteca Viva Los Domínicos.
Gracias a esta alianza con el MAS, tendrá ahora en su catálogo el libro Bruno y el Big Bang, el que cuenta con el patrocinio del MAS – a través del proyecto PME 2017 de la Iniciativa Científica Milenio- para la impresión de 1000 copias que son entregadas a colegios vulnerables e instituciones de este tipo, con el objetivo de que lleguen a un público que no tiene acceso a su compra.
Además este acuerdo permitirá realizar el Taller Arte + Ciencia: Bruno y el Big Bang, el viernes 22 de junio a las 18:00 horas en Biblioteca Viva Plaza Tobalaba, en el cual los mismos autores conversan con los niños sobre el Universo y la relación de distintos artistas de la historia y el cosmos como inspiración.[:]
