Plaza México, in Santiago’s Metropolitan Park, was the perfect setting to contemplate the Moon with the hundreds of people who say yes to the MAS invitation to attend this special celebration that NASA commemorates since 2010.
There were trivia games, prizes, a nice conversation with MAS astronomers and of course an astronomical observation, centered on our closest astronomical object and only natural satellite: The Moon.
It was in 2010 when NASA made the call to celebrate the first International Lunar Observation Night, but this is the first time that MAS joins this global event and wanted to join forces with the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, the Nucleus For Planet Formation of Universidad de Valparaiso, the Institute of Physics and Astronomy and the Faculty of Sciences of the institution, and the RM South East PAR Explora.

Plaza México, en el Parque Metropolitano de Santiago, fue el escenario perfecto para contemplar la Luna con los cientos de asistentes que hicieron eco a la invitación del MAS a asistir a esta especial celebración a la que convoca la NASA desde 2010.
Hubo trivias, premios, una amena conversación con astrónomos del MAS y por supuesto observaciones astronómicas, todo en torno a nuestro más cercano objeto astronómico y único satélite natural: La Luna.
Fue en 2010 cuando la NASA hizo el llamado a celebrar la primera Noche Internacional de la Observación Lunar, pero es primera vez que el MAS se une a este evento global y lo hizo junto al Parque Metropolitano de Santiago, al Núcleo de Formación Planetaria de la Universidad de Valparaíso, además del Instituto de Física y Astronomía y la Facultad de Ciencias de la misma casa de estudios y el PAR Explora RM Sur Oriente.
